Sanford, City of Promise

In the year 1870, General Henry S. Sanford purchased 12,547 acres which was the beginning of the City of Sanford. He being ambitious well educated and a United States diplomat, used his ingenious wisdom and highly acclaimed and influential contacts to establish this area into a highly productive city, i.e., in 1880 Ulysses S. Grant turned the first sod for the beginning of the new South Florida railroad.

Sanford is a transportation hub of Central Florida which employs the waterways, railways and Orlando Sanford International Airport and new interstate roadways connecting Central Florida to the rest of the World. The Orlando Sanford International Airport (where I have 28 acres for sale near by and fronting on Lake Mary Blvd. - see Featured Listing page) is one of the largest employers in Sanford. The airport is ranked one of the fastest growing in the country and is involved in an extensive expansion program.

Lots of Land is being purchased and developed according to the outstanding economic growth opportunities for the new and existing businesses, retail and industrial. City of Sanford plans include more than $100 million worth of projects in the downtown area and multi-million dollar projects for public infrastructure.
