When I heard a powerful lady evangelist teach about the Generational Curse, she had my attention. I couldn´t believe what I was hearing. Then I heard the Lord STRONGLY declare - "IT´S A LIE!" I said, "Whoa, that was emphatic." The Lord said "Go to Ezekiel 18". I immediately obeyed and opened the Bible to Ezekiel 18. This is what I read, Ezekiel 18:1"The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying, What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in The Lord sounds adamant to me and this is obviously an important issue with the Lord as He has written an entire Chapter on it. I continued reading and there are 20 scriptures that totally eliminate the legitimacy of the "Generational Curse". Verse 20 says it all - just as clear as glass but let´s read verses 18-20. Ezekiel 18:18-20 "As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity. Yet say ye, Why doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live. The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father; neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. Now I know that you can understand this the same as I, so let God be true and every man be a liar. Let´s check out more of the word to prove that there is no such thing, especially for the Christian. The source for this deception is in the Ten Commandments - Exodus 20. Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; HOW MANY CHRISTIANS DO YOU KNOW THAT HATE GOD? Simply put, if there is a generational curse, which that means the entire generation must have the curse - right? ...Well, okay, try this - one member of a family is an alcoholic let's say 3 generations ago, then all members of the next generation have to be alcoholics and certainly all of the next generation has all got to be alcoholics so soon the whole world should be alcoholics. It is true that there may be an alcoholic in a family but not all - and there may not be any for generations. Let's take murder - one murderer, then a generation of murderers, then the next generation, and eventually the whole world would be dead. Something is wrong with this picture, you think? There are familiar spirits and many others but you can pick those up and others simply by walking through a mall or by going to a site on the internet, opening yourself up to the Harry Potter junk or watching TV. Most alcoholics don´t become one until they take their first drink and the spirit takes over - no one becomes a drug addict until they take their first hit and the spirit comes in; no rapist becomes a rapist until his first act; no perverted spirit enters until the first act or acceptance of the vessel; could be by dreams, internet porn but normally by the act. Has nothing to do with the sins of the father - - how many sons are in sins today that their families have never known or participated in which genealogy can be checked for centuries; familiar spirits hang around where please until sent back to the deep pit never to return; demons hover over people all the time and will enter whenever invited or where there is no resistance. It is a deception of the enemy to gain power in people´s lives to make himself look more powerful than he is. He is only as powerful as you let him be. By the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus, and the Word of our testimony we overcome the evil and wickedness and all demons and evil spirits.
Numbers 14:18 - The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. 19 Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from 20 And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word: |
